  1. Electrolux UltraOne Vacuum Bag Options I'll explain which one is right for you.

Up until recently almost all Electrolux vacuum cleaners made in the last 10 years or so could use the same vacuum cleaner bags. While the Ultra One can still use those standard S-Bags like all other recent models, there is now a new improved bag available exclusively to the owners of the Ultra One.

I don’t, by any stretch of the imagination, mean for this post to be a review of the vacuum itself ... but I just can’t help putting my thoughts out there... I think the Ultra One is probably what I would buy for myself if I needed a new vacuum right now... big words, I know!

Ok...now down to business.  There are 3 products that I really need to touch on so you can get the right spares for your vacuum. The first is a standard pack of vacuum cleaner bags (E210B). This is an Ultra Long Performance bag.  It has the same fitting as earlier models, but the

  2. Nilfisk King Vacuum Bags should I save money and buy generic or go for the quality of the Nilfisk Originals?

Original Nilfisk Vacuum Bags V’s Generic Vacuum Bags for Nilfisk King

In most industries, if price is your focus when choosing between genuine or generic products, then generic will win 99% of the time. Vacuum cleaner bags for the Nilfisk King are no different.

In my mind though, price is only one consideration.  When shopping for Nilfisk King

  3. Dyson DC05 Filter Maintenance Tips + Bonus Video

    Hi Folks,

Just the other day a lady asked me to service her Dyson DC05 vacuum as it seemed to have lost a lot of suction. I dutifully completed the vacuum service and, as always, I replaced the filters.  In this particular case, replacing these filters was super important, because to be completely honest, they were in really bad shape. When I spoke with her I offered my usual stand out customer service, if I do say so myself! As we had our friendly vacuum chat, I gently broke the news of the tragic situation that had been hidden away inside her vacuum cleaner:  a big part of the problem with her machine was that it looked like those filters had never been touched.  She took the news well, and admitted that this was in fact the case...   She told me that she didn’t

  4. Step by step video guide for putting a belt on Kirby G Series Vacuum

The kirby is an absolutley awesome vacuum. In fact i would go so far as to say it is the best upright on the market bar none. The only trouble that really does seem to be too common is that the belt is a bit difficult to replace particualrly since it only needs doing every 6 months or so.

If you would like to purchase a kirby belt we of couse sell them, the code is KIRBYbelt
If you are running low on Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Bags we can help you there too!

To make it super easy I have made a video so you can follow along.

  5. A Big THANKYOU to all our Awesome Customers.

VacuumSpot has been noticed by the people at Driving Business Online and as a result, they have invited yours truly to speak at a conference they are holding in Wagga Wagga. To cut a long story short, we have been recognised as a stand out online business in our region because of our rapid growth in sales along with massive increases in the size of our online range.  At this conference, we have been given the chance to inspire other businesses to take advantage of the way that the internet can transform their work. I am a big fan of the online business idea, so I am keen to spread the good news!

This is an overwhelming honour for me.  I must confess to being a little out of my comfort zone with a real live audience and a microphone, when my natural habitat is sitting in front of my computer amongst mountains of vacuum

  6. Electrolux Ultra Active ZUA3860P Review from a user perspective.

Electrolux ZUA3860P Ultra ActiveThe basic features of the ZUA3860 are quite impressive on paper.

    2100W motor

    Remote control on handle

    Aero Pro power nozzle

    Aero Pro hard floor nozzle

    Bagless Cyclonic system

    9 Meter Cord

    Soft ride wheels

    Hepa H12 filter

But how does this convert to everyday (or weekly if your like our family) vacuuming?

I think it is fair to say that not all claims made in advertising are necessarily 100% open and honest reflection of whatever they are advertising. I am thinking of the "look 10 years younger in just seven days" that some make up or moisturisers claim. The "healthy" diet friendly claims of many fast food chains etc etc.

I have spent quite a bit of time both working on  (repairs) and testing this machine in normal use. My impressions of this machine are generally good although I do have

  7. Electrolux Ultra Active ZUA3860P Review - A technicians perspective

Like most Electrolux machines the general build quality is very high and has obviously been well designed. I guess writing this from a technicians perspective means I am going to be commenting on the issues rather than the benefits. I have also done a review from a users perspective for more of the plusses.

Here is a link to the user review.

The first thing I notice with these machines is that if they need to be repaired then it is very likely that the machine will get marked they have a lot of concealed screws under the power and cord retract pedals and under the digital display. I am a really experienced repairer and still make minor marks where a screwdriver

  8. New Security Features For VacuumSpot

For the last couple of weeks we have had some issues with our server and whilst we were aware of the symptoms we did not know the cause. On the 20th May our server was hacked and as a result within minutes VacuumSpot was taken offline.

Because of earlier minor issues we had asked Nerdster, our server hosts to perform security checks and stabilise our website. For the earlier part of the year we had been using offshore developers to fix any issues or add in desired features. The initial reason was because of their 24hr support which I was thrilled with but we will be continuing to use their service because they were aware of the attack and pulled us offline before any serious damage could be done.

The unfortunate thing is that changes were made to the platform our software runs from and had to subsequently be restored to a point from a week old backup. This

  9. How to change the Roller Brush Bearings on a Dyson DC04

The Dyson DC04 is getting on in age now but it is still a very good vacuum. If looked after properly it will continue for many more years. I was released over a decade ago but even if you bought it straight off the bat you could be using it right up to 2015 with a bit of maintenance. The video is titled How To Check The Dyson DC04 Roller Brush Bearings.

If your Dyson has worn brush roller bearings it will make the brush difficult to turn and may also cause the clutch to motor belt to stretch or it can cause the clutch to engage. The clutch engaging is a difficult sound to describe but it is a loud ratcheting sound.

The bearings on the brush roller are size 625 which we have in our

  10. The Winners Guide to Miele Vacuum Bags

Miele are a thoughtful bunch of vacuum producing people.  Not only have they made their machines sturdy and reliable, they have gone a long way towards helping you overcome the quandry of not knowing which bags to use.  They only have five different vacuum bags in their range, so even if you went in blind, and picked those vacuum bags out of the proverbial barrel, you would still have a one in five chance at getting the right ones.  But then, if you were smart and took the blind fold off, the odds of you picking a vacuum bag winner would be even greater, because you would use your powers of visual identification to match up the picture of the bags you want with that last one that you already
