Dyson DC08 lost suction? Maybe it’s a blockage in the Radix assembly.
Like all good marketing claims eg “this vacuum will never lose suction” there is usually an exception.
In the case of the Dyson dc08 it could be caused by a blockage in the radix assembly. The only trouble is that unfortunately you cannot tell if this is the problem until you take it apart (or take it to someone else who can).
Here are a couple of pictures of the insides of a radix assembly - Blocked of course.Anyway since it is not really that easy to describe how to take it apart I thought I would make it super easy and shoot a video for you. Dont forget to check your dyson dc08 filters too.

The basic features of the ZUA3860 are quite impressive on paper.
2100W motor
Remote control on handle
Aero Pro power nozzle
Aero Pro hard floor nozzle
Bagless Cyclonic system
9 Meter Cord
Soft ride wheels
Hepa H12 filter
But how does this convert to everyday (or weekly if your like our family) vacuuming?
I think it is fair to say that not all claims made in advertising are necessarily 100% open and honest reflection of whatever they are advertising. I am thinking of the "look 10 years younger in just seven days" that some make up or moisturisers claim. The "healthy" diet friendly claims of many fast food chains etc etc.
I have spent quite a bit of time both working on (repairs) and testing this machine in normal use. My impressions of this machine are generally good although I do have

The Dyson DC04 is getting on in age now but it is still a very good vacuum. If looked after properly it will continue for many more years. I was released over a decade ago but even if you bought it straight off the bat you could be using it right up to 2015 with a bit of maintenance. The video is titled How To Check The Dyson DC04 Roller Brush Bearings.
If your Dyson has worn brush roller bearings it will make the brush difficult to turn and may also cause the clutch to motor belt to stretch or it can cause the clutch to engage. The clutch engaging is a difficult sound to describe but it is a loud ratcheting sound.
The bearings on the brush roller are size 625 which

Ok so I am reviewing this as Smart Alec the vacuum technician.
What we have is a relatively compact vacuum cleaner in a pretty stylish bluey purple colour. Not that it's important but I actually happen to like the appearance of this machine.
The included accessories are as follows- Vacuum - Volta Vortex U4015 Gen 3
- Telescopic tube
- Dual purpose floor nozzle
- upholstery nozzle
- crevice nozzle
- Turbo head
- Standard

I had a Miele S5360 dropped in for repair today that turned out not to be a real repair at all. The customer brought it in with the fault that the lid was lifting up on it's own while they vacuumed. With a quick look and a listen to the machine I was able to identify and fix the problem.
Basically from listening I could hear that the machine was straining and I could actually see that the lid did lift up when running on full suction. Unfortunately when I shot the video the lid decided to behave like it normally would so you will just have to take my word that it did have a problem. Anyway the issue is a pretty exteme case of what can happen if your vacuum filter gets totally blocked. The motor is still running as per normal however it can't force the air through a blocked filter so it needs to find an alternative path to the outside world. What happened in this case is that the force

Recently I did an interview with Andrew of Mixergy.com it was the first time I had ever done an hour long interview and I have to admit I was quite nervous. The thing is I have come from quite a chequered past and spent many years finding ways to spend time that I am now not very proud of. I have never publicly talked about this stuff that happened half a lifetime ago but with our recent success I could see that if I actually talked about some of the lows as well as the highs it may actually be of help and possible even inspire some people. I am embedding the video below so I don’t need to retell the entire story except to say that it is not really a vacuum specific video so if you are after an hour long interview about Miele or Electrolux this will not be what you are after. However if you want to have a listen to a story about how a guy turned his life around from rock

Background
A good friend of mine recently asked me if I could help by having a look at her Electrolux Ultra Active, which refused to run, this vacuum cleaner has been to local repairers on two previous occasions and after each repair it failed again after very little use!
I have learnt through life’s many challenges; that if you are going to attempt to fix anything, the more information you can gather the better. I located an operator’s manual on the internet; however, this contained very little information on troubleshooting or the basic fault tracing “Ok I know that is the norm” but you have to start somewhere!
Fault description
Plug the power cord into the wall socket

What’s in a rod? That which we call a rod by any other type would probably not smell sweet, but would function as well.
We’re no experts in Shakespeare and his romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet (which is the inspiration for the first line, if you didn’t know), but we’re experts when it comes to vacuum bags, filter for vacuum and vacuum cleaner rods. And we can tell you that when it comes to the latter, the type you choose WILL make a difference.
What is a vacuum cleaner rod?

Hi, my name is Scott, and I am the newest member of the VacuumSpot Team.
I must confess, before starting here at VacuumSpot, I didn't know a great deal about the Vacuum Cleaning industry, but with the help of the staff members I think I have come a long way in 6 short months.
Part of my employment back-ground was 7 years as a Service Advisor in the Automotive industry. The one thing I did learn, (the hard way) was that new car warranty did not cover everything, despite what the new car salesperson told the customer when they first bought the car. Whether it was a Mercedes Benz or a Kia new car warranty only covered manufacturing defects.
It’s the same with vacuum cleaners.
Every manufactured item we buy today has a pre-determined, manufactured life span, this is known as “manufactured obsolescence”. They are designed to fail after a “reasonable”

Owners of Electrolux Ultracaptic vacuum cleaners know that aside from not needing vacuum bags and having a convenient Compact & Go disposal solution, one of the great things about these models is their Radio Frequency (RF) remote control units. These units are conveniently located within the loop handles of the vac, and make controlling the vac’s operations a breeze.
